GroupHealth e-learning ![]() |
My contract with MediaPro began with the GroupHealth
Project. This project involved building learning modules to instruct
doctors, nurses and other hospital staff in the proper use of their new
patient management software. The course called Epic Training consisted
of actual screen shots of GroupHealth’s patient management software
program during usage. The courseware consisted of interactive visual
and audio instruction, summaries, knowledge checks and quizzes. It was my job to then take this information and develop it into a self
contained courseware module using PhotoShop CS to prepare screenshots
and Dreamweaver MX 2004 to develop the lessons and interactivity. |
verizon staffing e-learning ![]() |
After the GroupHealth project concluded, I remained with MediaPro and helped with the Verizon Staffing project. This was a courseware project that involved teaching Verizon management procedures for staffing issues. This project included interactive instructional design using PhotoShop, JavaScript and DHTML. I built several lesson modules within the Verizon Staffing project. I worked with Instructional Designers using their PowerPoint storyboards as a guide to develop these lessons. Often there were graphics that need to be created, which usually involved searching for a suitable image from the images database and adding the appropriate treatments per the storyboard. At times, I would also amend Flash files that contained templated quizzes. A great deal of the work included layer manipulation to create interactivity and an interesting learning environment. There was a strong focus on accuracy, visual aesthetics, and creative dynamic functionality. |
microsoft commitment setting e-learning ![]() |
I developed this courseware which included 7 lesson modules and an assessment test and a spinoff standalone lesson called CPE. The course was interactive, having the user participate in the learning process by clicking on or rolling over the screen to receive addition information, entering text in fields to compare answers with the experts and answering questions and allowing the user to receive immediate feedback. I also added the audio tracks (voiceovers) to the courseware. The original voiceovers were made at a recording studio and supplied to me in the form of .wav. I converted the files with Sound Forge and added them to each screen using Flash MX 2004 and Dreamweaver. Much of the audio was coded to play when the page loaded; however, some audio had to play when an event happened on screen, like a mouse click or rollover. Accessibly was an issue for this project and I was responsible to ensure
that the entire courseware had the coding correct to offer the best user
experience for persons who where blind and using browsers for the blind
or screen readers. |

business desktop deployment ![]() |
Microsoft’s Business Desktop Deployment was a huge Flash development
project involving a large team of Flash developers, graphic artists, QA
specialists and project managers. I was originally tasked to do quality
assurance testing on this courseware but as the project unfolded I was
asked to help out in other aspects as well. For instance, I did a majority of the transcripts for the entire course. These were transcribed on notepad and then dynamically brought into the lesson in Flash using Action Scripting. The transcripts were accessible to the user at anytime by clicking on a link within the courseware menu. Near the end of the project I was asked to help out with some of the modules by developing introduction and summary pages, adding graphic treatments to screens and amending templated quizzes per storyboard specifications. read accolades |
